Reducing Steps in the Final Assembly Process

Plastic Components' sophistication has led our customers to request greater and greater involvement in reducing the total assembly needs at their finished location.

That allows us to provide sub-assemblies with inputs that we purchased from other vendors. Mold into the product and then package appropriately reducing the complexity on the customer's finished assembly line.

This 500-ton molding machine behind me is a combined automation cell, including insert molding two-shot as well as camera inspection for all the parts.

The collaboration between the injection molding manufacturer, the mold manufacturer, as well as the third-party automation team, allowed us to condense in one footprint three to four different molding activities in a tight footprint that then the parts are provided to the conveyor and then go into the packaging station where we're able to layer pack them and protect them for transport to the west coast customer of ours.
