Labor Free Injection Molding

My name is Gene Mussel, and this is the Mussel Minute with the goal of educating the industry as well our customers on how PCI utilizes technology to provide exceptional quality to our customers. Since our company's inception, we have focused on utilizing science and technology to replace labor in the manufacturing process.

Our commitment to robotics and automation has removed the need for labor in many of the part movement activities in the manufacturing process. Allowing us to provide a globally competitive product Our focus at Morse drive and Bunsen Drive is an operator-free injection molding environment. We have no operators at any of the machines.

One way to do that is to take automation such as this three-axis insert, molding job, where we have an insert that sourced from Asia, it goes into a feeder bowl is picked by an end of arm tool that end of arm tool inserts the insert into the mold. After picking up the injected finished product and then deposits those finished parts.

In the box behind in 90 minutes of operation, we have zero direct labor and only five minutes of needed raw material handling for the inserts. And then the removal of the finished box, making this a very consistent, automated insert, molding project. To subscribe to the Mussel Minute, click on the link below.
