Injection Molding Team Leader

Position: Injection Molding Team Leader
Shift: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (3 positions)
Reports to: Manager, Injection Molding
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for daily coordination of activities directly related to the injection molding operations, and measurement and assessment of the results.
· Prioritize, coordinate, assign resources to, and assist with required tear-down, set-up and start-up of jobs according to established procedures and guidelines on various size injection molding machines and their associated auxiliary equipment with the goal of minimizing machine down time.
· Review and approve changes to documented processing parameters.
· Coordinate with appropriate management and technical resources to resolve issues.
· Identify and initiate necessary tool and machinery maintenance.
· Recommend changes required to part design, tool design or equipment capability to achieve acceptable quality and cost requirements.
· Assist with all necessary quality requirements as prescribed in the Process Quality Report.
· Perform selected preventative maintenance tasks on injection molding machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment.
· Perform selected data entry and reporting activities.
· Maintain proper housekeeping practices and mold storage requirements.
· Maintain requirements of monitoring systems to assure proper control and accountability.
· Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements

· Comprehensive knowledge and experience with thermal plastic and engineered resins used in injection molding.
· Comprehensive knowledge and experience with various types and sizes of injection molding machines to include mold set-up and processing.
· Experience in mold function and modifications required to achieve proper part requirements.
· Experience and ability to read part prints, determine critical part characteristics to assure proper processing and use an assortment of gages typical to part qualification.
· Experience and ability to use micro-processors and auxiliary personal computers.
· Experience and ability to perform basic mold and press maintenance and repair.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
